Deerfield Dumpster Day - Saturday May 30, 2026 - 9AM to 2 PM
As the vibrancy of spring unfolds, it's the perfect time to revitalize our homes and properties! The Deerfield Homeowners' & Property Owners', Inc. (DHPO) is delighted to announce our highly anticipated Annual Community Clean-Up & Dumpster Day for 2026, a fantastic opportunity for our active members to declutter and beautify our wonderful community.
This special one-day event is designed to help you responsibly dispose of those bulky or unusual items that aren't typically accepted by regular trash collection services or at standard landfills. It's a wonderful way to contribute to a cleaner, more attractive Deerfield for everyone.
Event Details at a Glance
When: Saturday, May 30th, 2026, from 9 AM to 2 PM (Please note: The event concludes promptly at 2 PM, or earlier if dumpsters reach capacity).

Who Can Participate? Membership Matters!
This invaluable community service is a direct benefit for all active DHPO members.
Current Active Members: You are welcome to bring your unwanted items for disposal at no additional charge. This is also an excellent opportunity to renew your DHPO membership for the upcoming 2026-27 fiscal year. The renewal period officially begins on July 1st, and the voluntary annual dues are $300. You can conveniently complete your membership form and submit your payment at the event.
Non-Members: We warmly invite you to join the DHPO and immediately gain access to this event, along with all other membership privileges for the 2026-27 fiscal year! You can become an active member by bringing a check for $300 made out to DHPO Inc. to the event. Your voluntary membership investment helps fund vital community initiatives like this and supports the ongoing preservation of Deerfield.
Making the Most of Dumpster Day: Important Guidelines
To ensure a smooth, safe, and efficient event for everyone, please observe the following:
Arrive Early: Our dumpsters have a finite capacity. Once a dumpster is full to its designated limit, we will unfortunately be unable to accept additional items. We encourage you to arrive promptly to guarantee your items can be accommodated.
Safe Loading Practices: All materials must be loaded below the top edge of the dumpster for safety and transport regulations.
Community Supervision: DHPO Board and ECC members, along with dedicated resident volunteers, will be on-site at both locations to assist, guide, and ensure proper disposal. We appreciate their dedication!
Prompt Removal: To maintain the pristine appearance of our neighborhood and prevent unauthorized dumping, all dumpsters will be removed on the same day the event concludes.
CRITICAL RESTRICTIONS: What We CANNOT Accept
Due to safety regulations, environmental concerns, and the limitations of our waste disposal provider, there are strict prohibitions on certain types of items. Please review this list carefully before you arrive:
1. Weight-Limited Items (Maximum 5,000 lbs per dumpster): To avoid significant overweight fees and ensure safe transportation, we cannot accept excessively heavy debris such as:
Concrete, rocks, sod, dirt, asphalt, asphalt shingles;
Manure, blocks, gravel, or plaster.
Please be aware that any disposal that causes a dumpster to exceed the weight limit will incur additional charges that will be passed on.
2. Hazardous Materials & Chemicals: Absolutely NO household chemicals or hazardous waste will be accepted. This includes, but is not limited to:
Buckets or containers of paint (liquid or dried), oil, antifreeze, fuels (gasoline, diesel);
Oil-based paint, mercury, degreasers, strong cleaning compounds;
All garden chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers).
Disposing of hazardous materials can lead to substantial fines and environmental damage. Please plan accordingly.
Alternative Disposal for Hazardous Waste: For guidance on safely disposing of these materials, please visit the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) website.
3. Specific Prohibited Items:
Car batteries, vehicle tires;
Large appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, etc.);
Electronics of any kind (televisions, printers, monitors, computers, etc.).
4. Tree Slash, Limbs, and Organic Brush: We cannot accommodate tree debris.
Alternative Disposal for Tree Debris: The Douglas County Slash-Mulch site is an excellent resource for these materials. It is now located at 5675 Delva Way,
Sedalia, CO and is open on Saturdays only 7 AM to 4 PM. They accept tree limbs, shrubs, and brush with a maximum length of 6 feet and a maximum diameter of 12 inches. Loose pine needles are also accepted but must be kept separate from other items. Remember that all loads must be covered when you arrive at the site. For more details, please visit Slash-Mulch - Douglas County.
We encourage all residents to pre-sort your items to ensure a quick and efficient drop-off process on event day. Your cooperation is key to a successful community clean-up!
Thank you for your active participation in making Deerfield a truly exceptional place to live. We look forward to seeing you there for a productive day of spring cleaning and community spirit!
Warmly,
Ron VanZandt
President, DHPO Inc.
