Environmental Control Committee

The Environmental Control Committee (ECC) is comprised of resident volunteers who will review your project for adherence to the covenants.

Please contact the ECC for more information when considering any property improvements or modifications, including fencing, tree cutting, painting, and building new structures.

Covenants adherence is mandatory regardless of membership status.

Current ECC Members: Rich Love, Fred Pax, Sid Raines, Davona Roat, and Ron VanZandt (we’re your neighbors!)

ECC Approval Process

Submit Project

You can submit your project by completing this form and sending to administration@deerfieldexpress.org. Please include any drawings, plans, or photos that support your request.

Complete Visit

Once you email your request, someone will confirm receipt and work to schedule an on-site visit. A minimum of 3 ECC members will be present for the walkthrough. They will ask questions about your project and may take photos of your property. There may be follow-up items for complex projects.

Receive Decision

The ECC will notify the DHPO Board of Directors of their decision to approve or deny your project. If approved, you will receive a formal letter indicating you can proceed with your project. Please keep this documentation for your records.

ECC Actions

We thank all of our homeowners and property owners who continue to support the Deerfield Protective Covenants and follow the Environmental Control Committee approval process. DHPO, Inc will take action to enforce the Covenants if necessary.

If you have concerns with projects recently approved, or questions for the ECC, please contact us at administration@deerfieldexpress.org.

Curious what kinds of projects require ECC approval? Review previously submitted ECC requests and their final status. Your project may still require ECC approval if you do not see a similar request. Please contact the ECC before you make changes to your property, including fencing, tree cutting, paining, and building new structures.
