August 2025 Board of Directors Meeting

DHPO, Inc. Board Meeting
Date: Thursday, August 21, 2025 6:30 pm

Meeting was called to order at 6:45 p.m. and quorum was established. Board of Directors present: Dave Jacobs (President), Lauren Fulton (Vice President), Glen Roat (Treasurer), Shauna Smith (Secretary). Members at Large present: Cheryl Gerger, Lash Rusell.  ECC member present: Ron VanZandt.

Treasurer’s Report – Glen Roat

·      Financial update – finances are in good standing with a July ending balance of $90,515.

·      Electronic Payments via Wells Fargo Clover system

o   QR code has successfully been generated for members to scan and pay electronically via ACH, Venmo, Apple Pay, Credit Card, etc.

o   $10 fee per month, 3% charge on credit card payments.

o   25 members have used this method for paying dues.

o   $10 fee per month, 3% charge on credit card payments.

·      One page summary of finances will be provided for Membership Meeting in September.

Secretary’s Report – Shauna Smith

·      2024-2025 current fiscal year active membership count – 80 property owners

·      Attendees for September Membership Meeting must be current members or make payment upon entry to meeting, no exceptions.

Fire Mitigation Final Results – Lash Russell

·      77 properties were assessed, 62 completed the mitigation work.

·      $478,000 in mitigation grants received from Douglas County and Colorado State.

·      Lash will be conducting a follow up survey of all who were a part of the mitigation work for feedback and hopefully to add some new members.

ECC Update – Ron VanZandt

·      29 plans submitted to ECC year to date.

·      Last year 48 plans submitted.

·      Common trends in submittals include conversion to cementitious siding, conversion to composite decks, and brush and tree modifications.

September Semi-Annual Membership Meeting – Dave Jacobs

·      Reminder email to go out by September 2nd and post meeting reminders on mailboxes.

·      Usual agenda with Treasurer’s Report, Secretary’s Report, etc.

·      Presentation by Casey Burgess from Allstate with regard to homeowner’s insurance challenges in Deerfield.

·      Brochure on mullein weed provided by Ginny.

·      Election for DHPO Board – February 19, 2025.

Other Business/Comments

·      Continued speeding problem on Deerfield Road.

·      Next Board meeting in October 23, 2025, location TBD.

·      Next Membership meeting September 16th at Franktown Fire Station, 6:00 pm check in, meeting at 6:30 pm.
